Mr President Ekemena Prince, mentor to African creators, Founder of the 7 Figure Digital Creators Online Family and the Office Of The President

Digital product creation gets thrown around a lot online, usually attached to a screenshot of someone’s bank balance. Strip away the hype, and it’s simpler than that: it’s turning something you already know, do, or have experienced into a digital asset, an ebook, a template, a guide, a course, that someone else can buy and use.

For African creators specifically, this matters more than the trend suggests. Most of the traditional paths to income, a formal job, a business requiring capital you don’t have, are either scarce or genuinely out of reach for a lot of talented young people. Digital product creation doesn’t require a warehouse, a loan, or connections. It requires knowledge you likely already have, and a way to package it.

That’s the whole premise behind everything I’ve built under the Office Of The President brand.

The Real Barriers (And Why They’re Different Here)

I graduated from ESPAM University in Benin Republic with a degree in Computer Science, and I made a choice most people around me didn’t understand. I decided not to chase a traditional job. Africa’s job market is brutal, and I’d watched too many graduates wait years for opportunities that never came, while rent, water, electricity, and bills didn’t wait for anyone to figure things out.

This is the barrier most guides about “making money online” never mention: the advice online is written for people with stable internet, spare capital, and time to experiment. African creators are often working with none of that cushion. So the products and strategies that make sense here look different. They need to start smaller, cost less to build, and generate income faster than a six-month course would suggest.

That’s exactly the gap digital product creation fills, if you approach it the right way.

Finding Your First Product Idea

The biggest myth about digital product creation is that you need a groundbreaking, never-been-done idea. You don’t. You need a real answer to a real question someone else is already asking.

Start here: what do people already ask you for help with? What do you explain to friends, over and over, for free? That repeated question is usually the seed of your first product. It doesn’t need to be complex. A checklist, a short guide, a template, a swipe file, these are all legitimate digital products if they solve a specific problem for a specific person.

The mistake most people make is trying to build something for everyone. The products that actually sell solve one clear problem for one clear person.

Free vs. Paid Products: What Actually Sells

The short version: free products build trust and your audience. Paid products convert that trust into income. You need both, working together, not one instead of the other. I cover this in full depth in Free vs. Paid Digital Products: What Actually Sells.

The Tools You Actually Need to Launch

You do not need expensive software, a team, or a fancy website to launch your first digital product. You need a way to create the thing, a way to deliver it, and a way to get paid. That’s it. Everything beyond that is optimization you can add later. I break this down fully in The Tools You Actually Need To Launch Your First Digital Product.

From Idea To Launch: How I Built The OOTP Guide

The free OOTP Guide To Digital Branding exists because I kept explaining the same digital branding fundamentals to people inside 7FDCOF, over and over. Instead of repeating myself indefinitely, I packaged it. That’s digital product creation in its most practical form: solving a repeat problem once, properly, and letting the product do the repeating for you. Read the full behind-the-scenes case study for the complete story.

Where This Connects To Everything Else

Digital product creation on its own gets you a product. It doesn’t automatically get you an audience, a system for selling consistently, or the support to keep you going when it’s hard. That’s where social media monetization, passive income strategy, and community come in, each one is a different piece of the same picture, and I’ll be covering each in the posts that follow this one. If you use AI tools in your own process, read AI Tools For Digital Product Creation: What Actually Helps for the honest breakdown.
